When we first launched Black Educators Matter, our goal was to cultivate spaces and events for Black Educators and their supporters to Relax, Recharge, Regroup and Reconnect. We are THRILLED to have hosted our First More-Than-Happy Hour Event, a bingo fundraiser, service projects and multiple online Educator giveaways. Our signature event is the End of Summer Bonfire, held in August on Chicago’s lakefront.

Located at Promontory Point on the South Side of Chicago, we gather at this lakefront location to set intentions, celebrate the start of a new year, and bask in the beauty of our city.
