#Shoutout to the Mentors!! In this episode, Dr. Dominique Hill reflects on the impact the rural environment had on his formative years (let’s bring back meetings in the town center!). From the integration research, the leadership skills he developed in high school (navigating a truce to end race riots) and exploring the different career opportunities within parks and recreation, he’s embracing joy and peace while God unveils his path in higher education.
“When I first arrived, I was the only Black male.”
Dominique discusses the complexities within education, the varied perspectives on the value of pursuing higher education, and the challenges with how we measure intelligence. He’s also working to recruit and hire more Black faculty and staff, integrate a culture of mentorship, and inspire students to achieve greatness. Tune in for a testimony and a praise break as Dr. Hill shares his story.
